5 Mistakes to Avoid

So you're thinking about trying an indoor cycling or spinning class.  Awesome!  You probably want to know what not to do.  In this somewhat humorous video, you'll learn the five beginner mistakes to avoid.

The Five Mistakes to Avoid:

  1. Pants are too loose and wide at the bottom.  Instead, wear cycling shorts or yoga pants that are tight fitting.
  2. Pointing your toes.  This isn't ballet.  You want to keep your feet flat :-).
  3. Death grip on the handlebars.  Use a light grip.  Your shoulders should be relaxed and open up through your chest.
  4. Not enough resistance.  You don't want to be bouncing around.  If you want to stand while peddling, make sure you have enough resistance for a nice, smooth peddle stroke.
  5. Too much resistance.  You don't want to be "mashing down" on your peddle stroke.
