In this video, Donna Boyer of cndfinds shares why she sticks with thrift stores and how to make the most money on each shopping trip.

Why thrift stores? 

  • Donna loves the atmosphere. 
  • Yard sales take longer to shop at because you have to keep getting your child in and out of the car. (A yard sale with multiple families or an indoor church bazaar is better.)

Tips for Thrift Store Success

  1. Go on 50% off days and sale days.  It's means more profit for you.
  2. Start with your most profitable items first.  Donna starts with shoes, then goes to men's clothing.  (Donna shops men's clothing because it is less overwhelming for her than women's clothing.) 
  3. Use the eBay app to see what's already sold.  Look at completed listings.  You don't want to sell what no one is buying.
  4. Know your maximum spend.  For Donna, her ideal price point is $5-$7 for shoes and $3-$5 for men's clothing. 
  5. Join Facebook groups.  Use these groups to learn about certain brands and what people are having the most success with.
